Tskhinvali Says Tbilisi Imposes Economic Blockade on S.Ossetia
The breakaway South Ossetian Press and Information Committee reported on April 18 that the Georgian side has reinforced its police and security checkpoints all along the border with the breakaway region in an attempt to impose an economic blockade on South Ossetia.
?Nothing is being allowed to be imported from Georgia into South Ossetia, except apples. Even small batches of goods are seized? The current situation is similar to the one which existed on the eve of Georgia?s aggression against South Ossetia last summer,? the South Ossetian Press and Information Committee stated, referring to armed clashes that erupted last August between Georgian troops and South Ossetian militias.
