According to Georgian media reports, over 50 members of the ruling National Movement party in the town of Terjola, in the Imereti region, led by Zaur Gurgenidze, founder of the regional organization, quit the party on April 13, citing disagreement with party leadership.

In a response, the National Movement?s press office issued a statement on the same day claiming that Gurgenidze has never been a ruling party member and his move aims at ?discrediting the National Movement.?
