Journalists Quit Adjara TV, Citing Pressure
Chief of the news program Nata Imedaishvili and three other journalists of the state-owned television in Ajdara Autonomous Republic quitted the company, citing pressure from the television?s leadership.
?For past three months Zaza Khalvashi [the chief of Adjara TV] has been personally putting pressure on the news program and strict censorship,? Nata Imedaishvili told Rustavi 2 on March 3. However, leadership of the Adjara TV denies these accusations.
Zaza Khalvashi was appointed as the chief of the Adjarian television after peaceful ouster of Adjara?s ex-leader Aslan Abashidze last May.
