Bagapsh Denies Disagreements with Khajimba

On February 24 President of breakaway Abkhazia Sergey Bagapsh denied that the formation of the new cabinet in the de facto republic triggered a disagreement with Vice-President Raul Khajimba.

A group of opposition parties organized under the Forum of National Unity claimed that President Bagapsh turned down several candidates proposed by Vice President Khajimba for the positions of Defense, Security, Interior and Foreign Affairs. According to a power-sharing agreement between Bagapsh and Khajimba, the Vice-President is in charge of breakaway region?s defense and foreign policy.

?There is no problem regarding the formation of the new structure and staff of the cabinet with Raul Khajimba,? Bagapsh told RIA Novosti news agency, adding that the Forum of National Unity is straining the situation in the region by making these kinds of statements.
