Parliamentary Committee Vetoes Relocation of Constitutional Court
At a hearing on February 16, the Parliamentary Committee for Legal Issues ruled against the government?s proposal to move the Tbilisi-based Constitutional Court of Georgia to the country?s second largest city of Kutaisi.
Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Legal Issues MP Giga Bokeria said that the proposal is ?politically inappropriate.?
The draft plan, proposed by the government in January, over ?Reforming Management of Governmental Structures? envisages relocating some governmental office, including the Constitutional Court, from the capital city Tbilisi to different towns in Georgia.
