Shooting Reported in South Ossetian Conflict Zone

Sporadic shootouts were reported overnight on December 23 near the Georgian village of Eredvi in the South Ossetian conflict zone.  No casualties were reported.
 
Georgian State Minister for Conflict Resolution Issues Goga Khaindrava told reporters on December 23 that the Georgian side will push the issue at a meeting of the Joint Control Commission (JCC), which is currently taking place in Tbilisi.
 
?We will demand explanations regarding this incident.  We made sure that the process of demilitarization will be resumed,? Goga Khaindrava said, adding that new terms of demilitarization should be defined.
