Ex-Mayor of Batumi Says Abashidze “Misled by Inner Circle”

Aslan Smirba, a former Mayor of Adjarian Autonomy’s capital Batumi and ex-ally of Adjarian leader Aslan Abashidze, said at a press conference in Tbilisi on April 27, that Adjarian leader “is in an information vacuum.”
 
“Because of his inner circle, which misinforms him, Aslan Abashidze has no real information about what is happening between Tbilisi and Batumi,” Aslan Smirba said at a news briefing in Tbilisi on April 27.
 
Smirba also said that he had to flee Batumi because of pressure from the Abashidze’s inner circle.
