Saakashvili, Abashidze Start Talks

President Mikheil Saakashvili and Adjarian leader Aslan Abashidze are meeting for more than an hour already in the office of Aslan Abashidze in Batumi.

A fragmentation apparent in Adjara as President Saakashvili was met with crouds chanting “Babu! Babu!” – “grandpa” a nickname of Abashidze.

However, on his way to Batumi hundreds of supporters welcomed President Saakashvili with chanting of “Misha! Misha!” – a nickname of Mikheil Saakashvili.

A visit has already been marred with the incident, as one group of journalists accompanying President’s convoy was barred from entering Batumi by the supporters of Abashidze, however after President’s involvement journalists were allowed to enter Batumi.
