U.S. Looking Forward for Fair Elections in Georgia

Deputy spokesman of the U.S. Department of State Adam Ereli said on January 1, “we’re looking forward to a clean and peaceful election that represents the will of the Georgian people.”

“We’ve been working, as you know, since the last elections [November 2 parliamentary elections], we’ve been working closely with Georgia and NGOs and international organizations to help ensure that these are free, fair and transparent. I think we’ve contributed significant aid and expertise to that enterprise,” Adam Ereli said at a news briefing in Washington.
