Ex-Railway Chief Convened for Interrogation
Interior Minister Giorgi Baramidze demanded from Akaki Chkhaidze, the former chief of the state-owned Georgian Railway company, to appear for interrogation.
The Interior Ministry filed the criminal charges against Akaki Chkhaidze on December 19 for tax evasion.
Akaki Chkhaidze was the leader of the Great Silk Road political movement, which was the member of the Shevardnadze’s bloc on the eve of the fraudulent November 2 parliamentary elections.
“I call on him [Akaki Chkhaidze] to appear as soon as possible. Otherwise, we will issue a warrant to arrest him and if we fail to find him in Georgia, we will search him through the Interpol,” Giorgi Baramidze said on December 29.
