Ex-President’s Supporters Created New Party

MPs Zviad Mukbaniani and Irakli Gogava, who were the members of the Shevardnadze’s party For New Georgia, created political party Alliance for Democratic Georgia.

Both leaders of the newly created party protest against the new leadership, which took over the power after Shevardnadze’s resignation. However they intend to run for parliamentary elections.

Earlier Irina Sarishvili-Chanturia, who also was the member of Shevardnadze’s party, formed a new movement “New Force,” which aims, Sarishvili said, at resisting the dictatorship, which threatens the country.
