Deputy State Minister Says Authorities Ready to Keep Order
Deputy State Minister Anzor Baluashvili said the authorities are ready to maintain order in the country and to prevent any destabilization in the country.
“The authorities will observe the law and prevent destabilization in the country. We will not use force, however will do our best to maintain order in the country,” the Deputy State Minister said while commenting on the opposition’s protest rally in front of the Tbilisi Municipality.
The protest rally was launched in the wake of the meeting of the opposition leaders earlier today. Mikheil Saakashvili of the National Movement, leader of the Burjanadze-Democrats Nino Burjanadze and leader of the Unity opposition alliance Jumber Patiashvili agreed today to cooperate in order to prevent the authorities from manipulating election results.
The participants of the opposition demand the authorities to recognize the opposition’s victory in the November 2 parliamentary elections.
