Burjanadze, OSCE Observer Discussed Elections

Nino Burjanadze, Parliamentary Chairperson and leader of the Burjanadze-Democrats opposition election bloc met today with Bruce George, Special Coordinator of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office leading the Short-Term Observation Mission.

The issues of parliamentary elections were discussed during the meeting.

“I expressed my position regarding the elections. The authorities are playing with us. They want us to be silent regarding the mass ballot fraud in order to let us clear the 7% barrier. But we are not going to do so,” Nino Burjanadze said after the meeting with the OSCE Observer.

Bruce George said the final conclusion of the OSCE over the elections to be published in a month would be rather strict and critical.
