Georgia still Faces Energy Crisis

Due to the limited production of electricity on the Inguri hydro power plant, the Georgian capital Tbilisi receives only 140 megawatt of electricity, that is enough only for supplying with electricity vital facilities.

Fuel-Energy Minister Mamuka Nikolaishvili said on October 4, the talks are being held with the Russian side over electricity import. ?We will receive additional electricity from mid October,? the Minister added.

Chief of the Georgian Wholesale Electricity Market Alberto Solis warned today that the upcoming winter will be much graver.
