CEC Urges for Funds

Chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Nana Devdariani said today that the Finance Ministry has not funded the CEC yet.

?CEC has not received 6,5 million Lari [approximately USD 3 million] necessary for holding parliamentary elections. On Monday I am going to sue the Finance Ministry in the Supreme Court,? Nana Devdariani told reporters.

She said that the Finance Ministry allocated only 200,000 Lari out of 6,5 million. ?Lack of funding will definitely hinder election process,? she added.
