Ex-Chief Prosecutor to Run for MP

Gia Meparishvili, former General Prosecutor of Georgia, will run for MP in the Bagdati single-mandate constituency in western Georgia.

Gia Meparishvili is the member of the presidential-backed election bloc For New Georgia.

He resigned from the post of the General Prosecutor in November, 2002, after the mass protest rallies in Tbilisi.
