Burjanadze, Zhvania Form Election Alliance

(Tbilisi, August 18, 2003, Civil Georgia) – The United Democrats opposition party Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze formed an election alliance.

“The details of the election block will be known after my talks with Nino Burjanadze, which will be held tomorrow [on August 19],” Zurab Zhvania leader of the United Democrats and former Parliamentary Chairman said at the news briefing today.

“We would welcome other opposition parties as well in our election alliance,” he added.

 Earlier Zurab Zhvania said that he was ready to give leadership to Nino Burjanadze in case of forming joint election alliance.
