Opposition Leader, British Envoy Discussed Elections

(Tbilisi, July 31, 2003, Civil Georgia) – Leader of the opposition National Movement party Mikheil Saakashvili met with British Ambassador to Georgia Deborah Barnes Jones on July 31.

The issue of upcoming parliamentary elections in Georgia was discussed during the meeting.

The British Ambassador expresses regret that the Parliament fails to adopt the draft election code, adding that Georgia should ensure holding of fair elections in the country.
