Jailbreak from Tbilisi Prison

(Tbilisi, June 28, 2003, Civil Georgia) – Eight inmates escaped from the Avchala prison in Tbilisi late on June 27.

According to the Georgian Justice Ministry the prisoners disarmed the guard and escaped.

All the jailbreakers were convicted for serious crimes. The General Inspection of the Georgian Justice Ministry has launched an inquiry.
