Georgian Family Attacked in Gali District

(Tbilisi, June 23, 2003, Civil Georgia) – The unidentified persons attacked the family of the sister of Davit Khubua, the Information Minister of the Abkhaz government-in-exile, in the Gali district, as a result of which the Minister?s sister Tinatin Ezugbaia was shot dead. Her son was hospitalized with severe injuries.

Leader of the Tbilisi-based Abkhaz government in exile Tamaz Nadareishvili condemned the fact, saying ?this is the continuation of ethnic cleansing of Georgians in Abkhazia.?
