MFA Refutes Iran War News
(Tbilisi, May 30 2003, Civil Georgia) Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia Kakha Sikharulidze refutes news about Georgia’s possible involvement in a possible US war against Iran. Sikharulidze called this news a “misinformation”.
“Official Tbilisi has already expressed its position in this regard. Georgia held no consultations with the US concerning the war against Iran. At the same time I declare that there is no ground for Iran to carry out attacks on Georgia. We have friendly relations with Iran”, – the Deputy Foreign Minister stated at the briefing today.
He also said the US, Iranian Ambassadors, saying the ambassadors have treated this news as a “joke.”
