Parliamentary Elections Discussed with the CoE Secretary-General

(Tbilisi, May 24, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Kakha Sikharulidze met with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Walter Schwimmer on May 22 in Strasbourg.

Upcoming Parliamentary Elections of November 2, 2003 in Georgia were one of the main issues, discussed during the meeting. Schwimmer and Sikharulidze discussed role of the international organizations in these elections. The sides underlined importance of conduction of the elections in the democratic way.

Permanent Representative of Georgia to the CoE Lana Gogoberidze also attended the meeting.
