GUUAM Ministerial Summit in Tbilisi

(Tbilisi, May 24, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Third Meeting of the Council of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of GUUAM (Georgia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Moldova) states in being held in Tbilisi on May 24.

The sides are discussing issues of implementation of the agreement, concluded during the previous meeting of the foreign ministers, as well as issues of preparation of the highest level summit of the GUUAM state leaders in Yalta, July this year. The ministers will also talk about progress of projects in the GUUAM framework and future plans of the organization. At the end of the meeting, the ministers will adopt a joint communiqu?.

The meeting will also discuss perspective of cooperation of the organization with the United States of America. Assistant to the Secretary of State of the United States for European and Eurasian Affairs Lynn Pasco is attending the meeting.
