Religious Leaders Called for Peace in Caucasus

(Tbilisi, May 23, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Representatives of various religious confessions of Georgia and the Caucasus, gathered at a joint press-conference at the representation of the Adjarian Autonomous Republic in Tbilisi today. The participants called for peace in the whole Caucasus region.

“Peoples of Caucasus shall unite despite religious or ethnic differences” – orthodox priest Father Nikoloz said.

The appeal was joined by the leaders of Catholics, Muslims and Judaists, living in the region.
