Pro-Governmental Alliance Leaders Visit Samegrelo
(Tbilisi, May 20, 2003. Civil Georgia) – A delegation of the pro-governmental alliance leaders, headed by the State Minister Avtandil Jorbenadze, visited Samegrelo region today.
At the moment Jorbenadze is meeting with the region’s governor to discuss the current situation in the region.
“This is one of the most politicized regions in Georgia and therefore it requires very careful approach. We have arrived to study the situation on the place and meet the local people” – said Irina Sarishvili-Chanturia, leader of the National-Democratic Party and the representative of the alliance.
Remarkably, the delegation is accompanied by the son of the former president Zviad Gamsakhurda, Giorgi Gamsakhurdia, who is the police officer at present.
