Georgia Seized Turkish Ship for Illegal Wood Export

(Tbilisi, May 15, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Georgian border guards seized Turkish ship on May 14 carrying wood from Georgia’s breakaway Abkhazia.

According to the Georgian Border Guard Department owners of the Turkish ship Selim I face 200.000 Lari fine for illegal export of wood from Abkhazia.

Last November Georgian border guards seized Turkish ship Seqer Baba for illegal fishing in the Georgian territorial waters in breakaway Abkhazia.
