Opposition Leader Warns Over Election Postponement
(Tbilisi, May 9, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Leader of the opposition New Rights party Davit Gamkrelidze said on May 8 that the government and the President aim at postponement of the Parliamentary elections, scheduled for November 2.
“Pro-governmental parties are doomed for failure in the elections, thus aim to destabilize the country to declare emergency situation, that would lead to delay of elections,” Davit Gamkrelidze said while speaking live in Rustavi 2 TV channel.
He called the opposition political parties for cooperation in order to prevent destabilization in the country.
