Parliamentary Chairperson Meets US Ambassador

(Tbilisi, May 8, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze meets today US ambassador in Georgian Richard Miles.

It is anticipated that the upcoming Parliamentary election will be in the top of the agenda during the talks.

Earlier today Richard Miles met with the leader of the opposition National Movement and the Chairman of the Tbilisi City Council Mikheil Saakashvili to discuss the election issue.

On May 2 western diplomats during the meeting with the President Shevardnadze urged for conduction of the fair and democratic Parliamentary election, scheduled for November 2.
