US Under Secretary of State Visits Georgia

(Tbilisi. May 2, 2003. Civil Georgia) – The US Under Secretary of State for Management Grant S. Green arrives today in Tbilisi for a one-day visit.

Grant S. Green will visit the 20-acre site in Didi Digomi, the suburb of Tbilisi, where the new US Embassy complex will be built.

According to the US embassy the construction, which costs USD 114 million, will start in three months and will be finished in 2006.

The JA Jones Construction Company is contracted to build the new embassy complex.

“The new American Embassy complex in Tbilisi will be built according to new U.S. Government standard embassy designs being used worldwide,” the US embassy reports.
