Number of Georgian Peacekeepers Increases in Kosovo

(Tbilisi. April 23, 2003. Civil Georgia) – One company of the Georgian armed forces left for German today and then will be dispatched to Kosovo to join Georgian platoon of peacekeepers.

In Germany Georgian peacekeepers will remain for couple of weeks and undergo training course.

At the moment one Georgian platoon operates within the German-Turkish Task Force under the Turkish command in Prizren.

Georgian Defense Ministry intends to form the peacekeepers battalion on the bases of the Georgian soldiers, which participated in the peacekeeping operation in Kosovo.
