Georgian Vice-Speaker Seeks Georgia’s Role in Iraqi Post-War Rehabilitation
(Tbilisi. April 12, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Vice-Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Vakhtang Rcheulishvili, which is the leader of the governmental-backed Socialist party, said that the group of MPs formed the commission on friendship with Iraq.
“This group of MPs will carry out preparations for establishment friendship relations with the future Parliament of Iraq,” Vakhtang Rcheulishvili said at the briefing on April 11.
He also said that this group will also work on possible involvement of Georgia in the Iraqi post-war rehabilitation.
“Georgia could assist Iraqi people with water, with engineers,” Rcheulishvili said.
