EU MPs Pay Fact-Finding Visit to Georgia

(Tbilisi February 24, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Delegation of EuroParliament pays fact-finding visit to Georgia on February 24-March 1.

Europarliamentarians will visit Pankisi gorge, where Georgian law enforcers intend to renew anti-crime operation.

Delegation will also visit Georgia?s breakaway region of Abkhazia and hold talks with de facto authorities of the Abkhaz Republic.

EuroParliamentary delegation will also meet President Eduard Shevardnadze, Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze, Foreign Minister Irakli Menagharishvili and other Georgian high officials.

The delegation will prepare a report regarding the situation in Georgia, which will be delivered to the EuroParliament in March.
