Russia Urges US to List Militant Groups in Chechnya, Pankisi as Terrorists

(Tbilisi February 7, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov said on February 6, that Russia wants US would list militant groups operating in Chechnya and Georgia’s Pankisi gorge as terrorists.

“We hope that other countries will act this way as well,” Igor Ivanov told the reporters.

Last year Russian authorities submitted to the UN Security Council documentation regarding the terrorist and militant groups operating in Chechnya and Pankisi gorge.
