CIS Summit Adopted Document on Abkhazia
The leaders of the Commonwealth of Independent State (CIS) adopted today a special document on settlement of the Abkhaz conflict during the Yalta Summit on September 19.
As the Russian news agency RIA Novosti reports quoting Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russia, as well as other CIS states supported Georgia’s initiative over adoption of the document regarding the principles of settlement of the Abkhaz conflict.
The Abkhaz issue was put on the Summit’s agenda as a result of President Shevardnadze’s categorical demand.
