Government Launches Territorial Administrative Reforms
(Tbilisi, December 13, 2002. Civil Georgia) – In accordance to the President’s decree government launches reform of the territorial-administrative organization of the country.
State Chancellery (President’s administration) reports that the reform will last till 2006, before the local self-governance elections.
President Shevardnadze in his recent public speeches has emphasized that the reform is essential for the effective functioning of the local governance and self-governance bodies.
President also claims that in wake of the reform the two chamber parliament should be created.
