Georgia Bids for NATO Membership
(Tbilisi, November 22, Civil Georgia) – President Shevardnadze at the NATO summit today officially announced that Georgia wishes to joint alliance.
Eduard Shevardnadze’s meeting with NATO Secretary General Lord Robertson is scheduled for today. After the meeting the official position of NATO concerning the Georgia’s appeal will be known.
“We hope that Georgia will receive approval from NATO,” Shevardnadze stated.
