Small Group of Criminals Remain in Pankisi ? President Says

(Tbilisi, November 18, Civil Georgia) – Georgian President?s said at the briefing today only small group of armed criminals remain in Pankisi gorge.

?There [in Pankisi gorge] is group of up to 10-12 criminals,? Eduard Shevardnadze said.

Last week Georgian Interior Minister Koba Narchemashvili stated that the anti-criminal operation, launched in the gorge on August 25, would be over by the end of November.

Georgian President said today that there are no more militants and mercenaries in Pankisi any more.
