Georgian Law Enforcers to Interrogate Shaw in Britain

(Tbilisi, November 15, Civil Georgia) – Group of Georgian detectives will visit Britain to interrogate Peter Shaw, which was held in hostage for almost five months in Georgia.

Georgian State Security Ministry Spokesman Nika Laliashvili told Civil Georgia today that the ministry has received invitation letter from the British embassy in Georgia, according to which British government is ready to cover travel cost of Georgian law enforces to Britain.

“The invitation letter says that the Georgian detectives will be able to speak with Peter Shaw in presence of representatives of the Foreign Office and the Scotland Yard,” Security Ministry official said.

British citizen Peter Shaw could escape from his captures on November 6. Georgia law enforcers claim Shaw was released as a result of the special operation. Shaw left for London on November 7.

British embassy in Georgia issued a statement on November 8 saying, “Peter Shaw and the United Kingdom authorities will play a full part in the prosecution proceedings of his captors and in the investigations of the circumstances surrounding his kidnap.”
