Russian MoD to Submit Plan of Pankisi Operation to Putin Soon
(Tbilisi, September 12, Civil Georgia) – Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) will submit to President Putin plan of military operation against terrorist in Georgia in the nearest days, Russian news agency Interfax reports quoting Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov.
He said that the Russian MoD is ready to carry out anti-terrorist operation in Georgia, “but it may not come necessary,” Ivanov added.
The Russian daily Vremia Novostey supposes that Anatoli Kvashnin, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces has already prepared plan of attack against terrorist harboring in Pankisi gorge.
According to the Russian daily the fighter jets will strike terrorists at first and then the special purpose of the Russian Intelligence Service come in action.
