Russian Foreign Minister Urges Georgia to Fight Against Terrorists

(Tbilisi, September 11, 2002, Civil Georgia) – Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov stated in the interview to the Russian TV channel ORT on September 10, “unfortunately Georgia does not fulfill its obligations to fight against international terrorism.”

Ivanov said that the UN Security Council adopted several resolutions, according to which each country is obliged to fight terror. “This concerns Georgia as well,” Russian Foreign Minister said.

“Georgia does not fulfill these commitments and we have right to demand from Georgia to act in respect of resolutions adopted the UN Security Council,” Ivanov stated.
