President Shevardnadze Harshly Comments on the Bombardment
(Tbilisi, August 22 2002, Civil Georgia) – “It’s time that Russia quit hunting Georgian villages and if the Russian armed forces do not obey their President, it’s his [Putin’s] problem”, Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze stated today after several Russian jets bombed the Georgian territory.
“If this is continued Georgia will be obliged to use all the potential to stop the bombardments”, Shevardnadze told the reporters.
A woman and a child died as a result of the bombardment Itlo gorge, near Pankisi, today. They are the first victims of continuing Russian bombs.
