US Senators Visit Georgia

(Tbilisi, Civil Georgia, August 19, 2002) – Today two Republican Senators John McCane and Fred Thomson arrived in Tbilisi. They will meet with President Shevardnadze.

During meeting cooperation between Georgia and America in military sphere, as well as issues of anti-terrorism campaign will be discussed.

Senators will meet with Chairperson of Georgia Nino Burjanadze, Secretary of Security Council Tedo Japaridze, Minister for Foreign Affairs Irakli Menagarishvili and Minister of Defense Davit Tevzadze.

It is the third visit of US high officials in Georgia in this month.
