State Minister Offers NGO to Collaborate
(Tbilisi, Civil Georgia, July 30, 2002) – State Minister Avtandil Jorbenadze visited NGO Liberty Institute today morning. The Minister offered the Institute members to collaborate in establishing and defending democracy in Georgia.
“It seems the West puts our government under pressure and I suppose this was why Jorbenadze visited us”, Dato Zurabishvili for the Liberty Institute told Civil Georgia today. He went on to say that he does not believe a word of the state official.
The Liberty Institute is known for defending religious minorities rights. Presumably that was why up to 10 young men raided its office on June 10 and bit up the NGO leaders.
