Georgia Launches Fighting Against Cyber-Crime
(Tbilisi, Civil Georgia, July 24, 2002) – The Justice Ministry elaborated and presented to the government’s meeting today amendments to the Criminal Code which makes the punishment for committing terrorist acts more severe.
The amendments consider punishment for cyber-crimes. “This is the new type of crime for Georgia. Consequences of this kind of crime might be similar to that of terrorist act for the country,” Valeri Khaburdzania, Georgian State Security Minister stated at the government’s meeting.
Khaburdzania said that the special department is created in the Security Ministry, which will fight against the cyber-crime.
