Experts from Caucasian States Discuss Decentralization Issue

(Tbilisi, May 15, Civil.ge) – Representatives of the governmental and non-governmental institutions from Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan discuss the issue of decentralization in these three South Caucasian states.

On May 14-16 the Regional Forum on Decentralization and Capacity-building in the Caucasus is held in Bakuriani, Georgia.

The forum will focus on current status of decentralization in Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. Top level national and sub-national policy makers, independent local government experts and other stakeholders will exchange ideas about strategy for development of decentralization policy in the South Caucasian states.

The project is co-funded, co-managed and co-implemented by the World Bank Institute (WBi), UNDP and the Local Government and Public Service Reform Initiative (LGI) under the umbrella of the Fiscal Decentralization Initiative (FDI).
