Adjara Delays Local Elections

(Tbilisi, May 10, Civil.ge) – Local self-governance elections in the Autonomous Republic of Adjara will be held on June 16, while in the rest of Georgia elections are scheduled for June 2.

Representation of the Autonomous Republic in Tbilisi reports that the postponement of the elections is caused with the organizational problems.

Candidates for the Sakrebulos [local elected councils] could not timely submit applications.
