Parliamentary Chairperson Says Some MPs Try to Discredit Parliament

(Tbilisi, March 15, Civil Georgia) – Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze stated on March 15, that some MPs discredited the Parliament with their statements concerning the discussion of the situation in Abkhazia.

Head of the Tbilisi-based Abkhazian government in exile Tamaz Nadareishvili left the session on March 14. He stated that such discussions are ineffective to solve the Abkhazian problem.

The Parliament continued discussion of situation in breakaway Abkhazia on March 15 beyond the closed doors.

It is anticipated that the Parliamentarians will adopt resolution concerning the situation in the unrecognized republic.
