(Tbilisi, February 14, Civil Georgia) – President Shevardnadze dismisses 12 Gamgebelis [heads of provincial districts] on the bases of the reports made by the Anticorruption Council and Chamber of Control [main official watchdog].
All the 12 Gamgebelis were accused in corruption.
Head of the State Chancellery’s Regional Management Office Badri Khatidze did not specified heads of which provincial districts were dismissed.
On February 10 President Shevardnadze sacked Governor of Mtskheta-Mtianeti region Koba Buchukuri also on the bases of the Anticorruption Council’s report.
