62 Resident Agents Uncovered in Georgia

(Tbilisi, February 10, Civil Georgia) – Georgian State Security Minister Valeri Khaburdzania reported at the government’s meeting on February 9 that 62 career officers of foreign intelligence services are uncovered in Georgia.

“At present, these resident agents are being studied. Over 3,600 foreigners were investigated, 68 of whom were denied a Georgian visa,” Valeri Khaburdzania stated.

“Foreign intelligence services show interest in virtually every sphere of the public, political and economic life in Georgia. In the process of gaining the required information, they are largely using material incentives,” Georgian State Security Minister reported.
