UN Envoy: Georgia to Pull Out Troops from Kodori in Nearest Days
(Tbilisi, February 7, Civil Georgia) – UN special envoy to Georgia Dieter Boden stated in the interview to the Georgian state TV channel that Georgian Defense Ministry is to start withdrawing its military units from Kodori gorge on February 9.
Georgian Defense Ministry did not take a final decision on the issue so far. The Ministry makes no comments concerning the reports that Defense Minister Davit Tevzadze left for Kodori on February 7 to inspect units deployed in Kodori.
On January 17 Georgia signed a protocol with the Abkhazian side to pull out the troops from Kodori the only territory in the breakaway Abkhazia controlled by the Georgian government.
